Music Video Filmed in Cedar HillNew Katie Mariah music video features scenes from Cedar Hill! - 3/20/2009
CEDAR HILL, Texas, March 20, 2009 – Cedar Hill recently hosted country music artist, Katie Mariah, on her latest music video for her single, “Thinkin’ Bout You,” produced by Frozen Fire Films. The video, which was shot in Cedar Hill and Dallas, features dining, recreational, and residential areas of Cedar Hill.
“Cedar Hill had a lot to offer. When you are producing a music video with multiple locations, it helps to find a city that has so many faces. To be so close to Dallas, yet be able to create scenes that feel like they could be taking place anywhere in the country was very attractive to our team when picking locations,” said Brad Davis, owner of Frozen Fire Films.
“There is a charm to Cedar Hill and a personality that really fit the mood for our video. It's got a nice mix of retail, residential and community which gave us a lot of options as we finalized the location selections...and it didn't hurt that everyone in the town was so welcoming, sometimes cities resist production teams, but Cedar Hill embraced it.”
Katie Mariah added that, “In one word, shooting the video in Cedar Hill was EASY! I imagine living here would be the best of both worlds - it has a small town feel with its friendliness and conveniences, but when needed, Dallas is only 15 minutes away. Perfect combination for what we needed.
“The people there rocked as well, I can't thank the team at The Ranch Steakhouse enough; they were so accommodating. The park was beautiful, the neighborhood we used was cool, even the lunch from Busy Bee's Bakery was delicious. The crew and I both thought it was an ideal place to stage most of my new video.”
Cedar Hill is working to become part of the state initiative to attract more film projects like this one to Texas.
“We know Cedar Hill has a lot to offer,” adds Allison J. H. Thompson, director, Cedar Hill Economic Development Corporation. “It only makes sense to welcome film projects like Katie Mariah’s so that more of the world can see what a beautiful city we have.”
