LEADING RETAILER BACKFILLS FORMER BEST BUY SPACE

Guitar Center, the world’s largest musical instruments retailer, has leased 13,349 square feet of junior anchor space at Cedar Hill Pointe, a mall-peripheral retail center located at the northwest corner of Pleasant Run Road and U.S. Highway 67, for a new location.

Steve Gray and Phillip Hooks with The Weitzman Group handled negotiations as exclusive leasing agents for the shopping center in cooperation with Cole Burdette and Rob Franks with JLL.

Guitar Center is scheduled to open this fall. At Cedar Hill Pointe, Guitar Center joins a line-up that includes Jason’s Deli, Sherwin Williams, Sleep Number, FedEx Kinko’s, SAS Shoes, Fantastic Sams and several others.

Guitar Center’s lease represents the backfilling of approximately half of an anchor space that formerly was occupied by Best Buy. “This new lease ensures that Cedar Hill Pointe remain one of the strongest retail destinations in the trade area,” Gray said. The center’s approximately 50,000 square feet of small-shop space is essentially full, and the leasing agents are fielding significant interest in the remaining junior anchor space, which totals 16,770 square feet and faces Highway 67.
