February 10, 2011 Cedar Hill, Texas. — Cedar Hill Economic Development Corporation staff and board members, city residents, Chamber of Commerce members, and City Council members braved the cold and wind Wednesday to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the new PepWear headquarters located in the Cedar Hill Business Park at 1540 High Meadows Way in Cedar Hill, TX. At the ceremony, Cedar Hill Mayor Rob Franke, Chamber President Amanda Skinner and Cedar Hill EDC Director Allison J.H. Thompson welcomed PepWear to the community.

"We are excited to begin construction on this state of the art facility. It will enable us to be much more productive and serve our customers even better. The location is perfect and its proximity to Cedar Hill's commercial center will be a real treat," said Craig Johnson, President of PepWear.

PepWear, LLC, a leading national decorated apparel and recognition plaque company, dedicated to recognizing and celebrating student achievements, will soon begin construction of a 32,000 square foot facility that will house office, showroom, production and warehouse space for its 50+ employees.

Due to Custom Sales growth of 30% in both 2009 and 2010, PepWear has outgrown its present location. After an extensive search across the southern DFW Metroplex, it became clear that an existing building was not going to meet PepWear's needs. At that point the decision was made to build from scratch and a search for the ideal site was begun.

“We chose to build in Cedar Hill for many reasons: the reasonable commute for our employees, its excellent proximity to major highways, the attractive commercial development and a progressive City management. When we saw the Cedar Hill Business Park, owned by the Cedar Hill Economic Development Corporation (CHEDC) we were very impressed. Then when the CHEDC offered us an attractive package of incentives to locate there, the decision was easy," said Mr. Johnson.

The City of Cedar Hill is also delighted about the addition of PepWear to the Cedar Hill Business Park. “PepWear is a natural fit for Cedar Hill. Our business park has the city services the growing company needs and the company’s culture is a great match with our community. We are excited that PepWear chose Cedar Hill as its new home,” said Allison J.H. Thompson, Economic Development Director for the City of Cedar Hill.
